H2E Endorsers Program

H2E Endorsers are organizations who support the goals and activities of H2E, and who engage in activities related to H2E’s goals of toxics minimization, waste reduction and mercury elimination. Endorsers make a statement of support for H2E's goals and activities, and list their organizations on H2E's website. They may also promote H2E membership and programs to their clients or customers. Endorsers are not eligible for H2E awards. Click on the links below for more information.

Who can participate?

H2E Endorsers are organizations that make a statement of support for H2E's goals and activities. Any organization whose mission, goals, and business practices are aligned with H2E's is welcome to endorse the H2E program. Organizations that are able to meet the baseline Champion commitments for their business sector are also eligible for Champion for Change status, including awards and special recognition.

Please note: H2E does not endorse any product or service. H2E Endorsers are endorsing H2E, not vice versa.

What do H2E Endorsers commit to do?

H2E Endorsers simply endorse the H2E program’s broad goals, in part by taking the Endorser Pledge. The Endorser program is flexible and encourages participants to design and implement efforts that work best for them. There are no specific requirements for Endorsers beyond taking the Endorser Pledge, but the following are some suggested activities to be incorporated into your H2E Endorser program:

• Feature H2E in your publications. H2E can provide Endorsers with sample newsletter articles and other materials that you can customize.

• Offer H2E presentations at your conferences and meetings. H2E can supply slides and information packets for you to hand out.

• Recognize H2E Partners. Publicize the achievements of your affiliated health care facilities when they join H2E, implement successful programs, or win an H2E award.

• Distribute H2E publications and resource materials to your members, clients or customers.

• Publicize your support for H2E goals and initiatives on your website.

• Create a link to the H2E homepage from your website.

What is the H2E Endorser Pledge?

As an H2E Endorser, our organization endorses and is committed to H2E’s goals: to virtually eliminate mercury from health care facilities, to reduce the total waste generated in the health care sector and to minimize the use of hazardous chemicals and persistent, bioaccumulative and toxic pollutants (PBTs).

We pledge to support efforts to help improve environmental performance in the healthcare sector through educational and technical assistance, where appropriate, to our affiliated organizations. Further, we pledge to assess our own internal waste management and environmental programs, and, wherever possible, to take action to achieve environmental improvements. We affirm that we have not been found in violation of federal, state or local environmental laws or regulations in the past five years.

If our company manufactures or sells products, we pledge that these products do not contain mercury, PBTs or highly hazardous chemicals. Further we pledge that the manufacture and disposal of these products does not generate PBTs. We pledge to continually work to reduce the environmental impacts of the products we supply to the healthcare sector, and to provide products and services that help health care facilities reduce the environmental impacts of their operations.
